UTSUTSU

Part of the calligraphy is covered with frosted acrylic, fixed with bolts.

Within a single work, a border is drawn between the area where contours remain and the area where they dissolve

— the boundary between reality and what precedes naming, erected as physical matter on the surface.

Sense of Contact

Calligraphy is enshrined behind frosted acrylic inside a small cabinet with doors, modeled on a Buddhist altar.

To open, or not to open — the act of contact is entrusted to the viewer.

Phenomenon

The calligraphy is burned.

The ashes are sealed in acrylic and fixed.

A series that holds the process of language being stripped away, returning to pure phenomenon.
